Hi agin fellow Independant Purists…I am looking at two limited edition LE, it is limited and about $55K with a Salmon dial and micro rotor, $35k without the micro rotor.  It is clear LF has fallen out of favor so I’m concerned about buying the watch below at retail, what are your thoughts about LE’s below and why they are not following the general watch market of higher prices and hard to get?..Thanks…Jim

Not sure what you mean

LF has falled out of favor. I think independent are surging right now with all this tomfoolery going on at the big brands. I think those are both beautiful, I thought the manual wind was already sold out? Lf with micro rotor and direct impulse escapement is what they are known for, along with tourbillon. I love the dial treatment and Breguet numerals on these editions. Can't go wrong with either.

Thanks for the input sir…

LF is still being sold at discounts to the general independant watch market so in my opinion, the market has spoken and LF is not one of the independents surging recently. The fact that Revolution still has one available is proof enough in this crazy market. I meant no offense but only say the obvious, I do appreciate your comments and will keep them in mind…Jim

I think...

Sometimes these things just take time. It's funny how one only wants the watches that are unbuyable and wishes they were the moment they're not. There's always a moment in time where they're buyable before they become unbuyable. Just follow your taste and buy what you believe in and let the market forces take care of themselves afterwards. Who knows, this could be your chance to buy a brand that hasn't been covered by the general market yet, lesser known, before it blows up.

Good advice chantheman

However I own two LF’s and follow them pretty closely so a purchase at $55k would have to be pure passion and some hope …Jim

Great points

You would think they would be sold. But also at 55k for a steel watch, that is a limited market. I do think the restrained , dressy nature does limit a lot of the LF desirability. I happen to be biased as I have an origins model- I have always loved the case, and hands and finishing of LF. If it depreciates some that's fine as I don't plan on my wife or kids settling my estate soon 😉 If you go down that path do share pic as that salmon dial is fantastic (although for me I prefer the regular brid

FPJ

makes nice watches but I've owned both brands and personally I find the finishing of the LFs to be a notch above FPJ. This might not reflect in the current market prices b ut as collectors you have to trust your own eye for quality and taste. The micro-rotor movement from LF is one of the best if not the best you can get for this price range in my opinion. In a world where steel time and date only watches can be going for multiples of this, I find these to be much better buys.
