Samwan's "Independents Night" post offers a rare glimpse into a gathering of serious collectors and their extraordinary timepieces. This article explores the curated selection of independent watchmaking marvels, highlighting the community's shared passion and the unique insights gleaned from such an exclusive event. It serves as a valuable resource for understanding the depth and breadth of independent horology.

This is what happens when a bunch of watch nuts meet...

We decided to adopt a theme of "Independents Night".  I have to sheepishly admit this is only a portion of our collection...

Stars of the evening are: Dufour. Roger Smith (Series Two and George Daniels), Voutilainen.

Not surprisingly, the FP Journe contingent accounted for over one-third of timepieces present.

Questions:

1. How many of us were there?

2. Can anyone name all the timepieces? (I can't)

3. What is the total value on the table?

Finally, some food pictures:

Hope you will forgive the poor quality pictures taken by a smartphone...

Thanks for sharing this treasure trove with us. If only one of you could start an interview series, asking one collector of this group at a time to present one or two of his watches and tell a bit about them, like why they were bought and what is of particular interest. Even if anonymous, with a couple of photos these would be great posts for me as reader, to learn more about the watches and the motives to acquire them. Bjรถrn
