Hi Everyone,

I'm pleased to share with you my latest acquisition: an HYT 1.0. This model was introduced in 2019, and due to the subsequent restructuring and change of ownership at HYT, it isn't as commonly spotted as some of their other models.

In my various online explorations, both in lesser-known spaces and on mainstream watch connoisseur sites, I've noticed the HYT 1.0 appears less frequently compared to the H0. So, you can imagine my excitement when I found a new one available. The HYT 1.0 has an improved caliber HYT 401 and a screw-down crown increasing the water resistance to 50 Mt.

I must admit, I've quickly become a fan of this remarkable timepiece. Yes, it does have a thicker profile, measuring at 20.08 mm, but it affords such a comfortable wear that the size becomes a non-issue.

The watch technically measures a full 48.8 mm, but when worn, it feels much more akin to a 42-43 mm piece, making it more manageable than you'd initially think.

One feature that particularly captivated me is the unique time display. This watch employs two distinct liquids, one blue and one transparent. The blue liquid indicates the hours, while the minutes are presented retrograde-style at the top of the dial.

The magic truly happens at the 6 PM/AM transition when the blue liquid reaches the end of its journey and swiftly retreats to the start. This is achieved as the transparent liquid repels the blue one, creating a mesmerizing display that's absolutely fascinating to watch.

While HYT's newer models are not as thick, I'm quite drawn to this 1.0 version. It boasts a distinct automotive-inspired aesthetic that I find incredibly appealing.

I've also been impressed with the strap. It's comfortable and the micro-adjustment feature on the buckle is a practical touch. Proper sizing significantly improves the wearing experience, and this feature makes achieving the right fit easy.

I 💙 it! The blue/steel combination was my favorite among the available options which also included red, green with black DLC, and I believe, a grey with black liquid version. But hey, this is the honeymoon phase🤭, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this timepiece.

Best,
Christian

It's a huge beast, but it's indeed proportioned and looking at your photos it looks great. I'd say it had the same physical presence al of the MAD 1 by MB&F, but HYT plays in the champions League of complicated watches.

I am a huge fan of HYT (especially that one model they have with the guilloche dial, so cool) and am surprised to see how little of their watches are out there in terms of social media! It is great to see your beauty here and can't wait for more pictures!!
