MTR's original post offers a compelling look into the practical considerations that shape a collector's choices, especially when balancing grail aspirations with existing pieces. His decision to retain the Hublot Limited Edition Big Bang Unico Essential Gray, initially considered for sale, highlights the often-underestimated value of a reliable, comfortable, and purpose-built timepiece for everyday wear and travel. This article explores MTR's rationale and the community's insights into the watch's enduring appeal.

To co-finance my grail watch, a GP Three Bridges Tourbillon.
I decided against it at the last minute and I'm very happy now that I didn't sell it!

Now my Hublot Limited Edition Big Bang Unico Essential Gray accompanies me as an uncomplicated vacation watch on a short trip to Croatia.

A 5 grade titanium case connected with a grey rubber strap, sufficiently water resistant (100m), offering a flyback chronograph, a power reserve of 72 hours and a (meanwhile) also very reliable movement with very good accuracy (Unico 2).

What more do you want when travelling?

Thanks for looking and 🥂
Thomas

How would you judge the proportions? I like the introduction oh the 42mm size and I am starting to appreciate Hublot a lot more because of it.

My wrist is 16,5 to 17 cm. And the watch feels very light. So it’s great for everyday use and holidays. Thank you for your nice comment, Andrea ☺️
