Nicolas (amanico) shares his initial impressions of the Hentschel H1 Chronometer Steel 39.5mm, a watch he finds particularly appealing due to its case, dial, and manual-winding chronometer movement. His personal preference for this model over the Hentschel H2 Klassik offers valuable insight into the nuances that resonate with a seasoned collector. This article delves into the H1's design and the community's appreciation for this independent German watchmaker.

My first moments with the Hentschel H1 Chronometer Steel 39, 5 mm. Since yesterday, I have it for some days, to take some photos, and to live with it, a bit.

I much prefer it to the Hentschel H2 Klassik I posted some months ago, for two reasons: The case is more my taste, as well as the dial.

Here is my first picture:

And... Of course, because it is a manual winding chronometer, and I am mad about them.

Best,

Nicolas

He is a nice chap with lots of knowledge in his business. I would say that his watches offer good value at his price point.

Much better than the H2. This one really speaks to me

I have to post mine as well, and the H2 ones also. Definitely this one is a quite elegant watch, very versatile, very classic (maybe so classic that it goes under the radar). If you ask me the detail that brought some excitement to me, definitely I would mention the very nicely finished blued leaf hands that sometimes really pop depending on the light and sometimes remain discreet. Globally a very pleasant watch with a nicely finished in-house movement.
