DonCorson offers an insightful look into Hautlence's presence at BaselWorld 2012, highlighting the brand's resurgence with new investors, including Georges-Henri Meylan. His post focuses on the refined HL2 model and the brand's strategic product line adjustments, providing a valuable snapshot of Hautlence during a pivotal period.

Hautlence at BaselWorld 2012

Hautlence has been through a difficult year 2011 and is now picking up speed again with new investors, most notably Mr. Georges-Henri Meylan, ex-CEO of AP.

I think that they have now finally gotten the HL2 right.  It is easy to read and the dance of the mechanics every hour when the hour jumps is worth the waiting.  The new case, which we already saw last year, makes this a big watch, but still wearable without loosing any of the perfect visibility of the movement and its movements.

Hautlence has done some cleaning up of their product line and the new round classic models are particularly nice as ladies watches.  My preference is still for the original HL (although the diamonds aren't for me).

I skipped Haulence this year after the lack of enthusiam given last year but glad to see that the HL2 is now fully working and it looks cool too. I am notso keen on the diamonds and lie you Don, I like the original lineup best. Cheers Andrew

It will be interesting to see what Mr. Meylan does with the brand. If it's anything like his track record with AP, only great things are to come.

I have great confidence in Guillaume Tetu and his team and I am sure that Mr. Meylan knows very well what he is doing. Let's see where Hautlence will surprise us with. In the meantime I am enjoying the HL05 GEO
