Last night something like 20cm of fresh snow fell, paired with some rain, making it heavy like cement. For all that the traffic situation was surprisingly unstressed. Even in a place where them overwhelming majority still use 2WD.

So a quick shot of the Habring2 Aurora, and its tide indication - not sure if it works with snow 😂❄️

Wishing you a great weekend ahead 👋🏻

About the Habring² Aurora

Habring² represents the independent watchmaking vision of Richard and Maria Habring, who established their Austrian manufacture in 2004 after Richard's tenure at IWC and A. Lange & Söhne. The Aurora sits within their focused collection of time-only and simple complication pieces, embodying the brand's philosophy of accessible mechanical excellence. The Habrings have consistently championed rational watchmaking, creating pieces that prioritize horological substance over marketing spectacle.

The Aurora showcases Habring²'s technical approach through its clean dial architecture and subsidiary seconds configuration. The anthracite dial provides visual depth while maintaining legibility, with applied Arabic numerals at cardinal positions. The case proportions reflect contemporary Austrian design sensibilities—understated yet purposeful. The movement likely derives from their modified base calibers, which the Habrings regulate and finish to manufacture standards in their Völkermarkt workshop.

Within the independent watchmaking segment, Habring² occupies a distinctive position as value-oriented manufacture production. Their pieces appeal to collectors seeking horological authenticity without the premium associated with more commercially prominent independents. The Aurora represents entry-level access to true independent watchmaking, making it particularly relevant for enthusiasts building foundational collections. Production volumes remain modest, ensuring each piece maintains exclusivity while avoiding the speculative pricing that characterizes many contemporary independents.
