In a captivating post, WatchProSite member mrds shares his recent acquisition, the Greubel Forsey Signature 1, a timepiece he suggests might be his 'last watch for quite some time.' His detailed photographs and initial impressions offer a rare glimpse into the allure of this specific reference, highlighting its exceptional finishing and movement architecture. This article delves into mrds's personal journey with the Signature 1 and synthesizes the community's insights on this significant independent watchmaking creation.

…could be my last watch for quite some time. Here’s a few pics of the Signature 1, which I had the pleasure of acquiring recently.

I think the watch has been shared previously by some WPS members so no new introduction is required.

The appeal of the S1, apart from the spectacular finishing, are the architecture and layout as well as the simplicity of the movement. You can literally follow the drive train from the barrel to the balance and it’s a huge pleasure to grab a loupe and do exactly that.

I would like to thank our dear Fastwong for the insights on this sublime watch. I‘m very happy to be the second owner on this forum of this series of 11!

I feel ashamed to share iPhone pics of such a watch, it really is an insult to the execution of the S1. Anyway I hope you get an idea. Thanks for watching!

Have a great weekend, my friends!
Daniel

I’ve made serious inquiries about SS versions of this limited run on many an occasion, but just lacked the courage to take the plunge. Truly remarkable pieces, and one of the most timeless GF offerings

I loved following along your journey and it's amazing to see the successful result of your search. It seems like it was meant to be, the right watch found you. 😉 Hope this is just the beginning of a long and rewarding experience! I just got a new dark gray strap and deployant for mine, think I found the perfect combo for me for another couple of years.
