Pics from Hodinkee One OCD thought: The "swirl" should go the other way on the sub seconds dial guilloché. Not any sort of bother, but if you stick a spoon into a jar of honey and turn the spoon clockwise, then the swirl will be the opposite way. That's what I did for a custom dial from metalem. Both ways look nice, just an OCD discussion topic!
The real question is whether it will stand the test of time as a brand, and just how good their product really is. I think we need people to test it out!
Personally, I feel like this doesn't have much personality to it, it feels bland & uninspired. The finishing is nice but nothing special. Design is not offensive, but nothing special. Movement is nice, but nothing special. The price point is also very, very aggressive for a new brand. The case, I do like. I can't tell if this is just the pic or if the welds are actually rough: Can anyone tell?
The choice of tantalum is also commendable. Every time I see a tantalum cased watch it gets my attention - something I'd like to try one day.
The welds DO look rough. In fact, if we're going by the lights of this kind of pricing...yikes. It's a bit like the Biver: unremarkable.
I believe it started with the Schwarz Etienne "Voutilainen" collaboration. Then many others followed suit, Moritz Grossman limited editions, Sartory Billard, Laine come to mind - by the way, all of those are far better value that this proposal. Sartory Billard also offers tantalum cases. Maybe I am too harsh, but I see no reason for excitement ...
