MTF presents a timely guide to Chopard's Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year offerings for 2016, showcasing a diverse range of watches and jewelry. The post invites readers to consider their own preferences among the brand's elegant selections, from the Imperiale to Happy Hearts.
Dear forumners,
Caught up in the planning for Chinese New Year 2016 on 8th February, I was stunned to be reminded by the current Mrs MTF about Valentine's Day that occurs a week later.
Egads! I had completely forgotten....or had I?
Forgetting the date would mean a spell in an establishment not unlike this one...
A trip to London is called for -- to save the day!
One could be easily confused by the sheer variety of choice at you friendly, neighbourhood Chopard boutique.
Luckily, Chopard has already prepared a crib-list for lovers-in-a-rush and made suggestions reproduced below.
I have sorted them by price range or desirability.
It is a personal choice; would you rank them differently?
Regards,
MTF

L’Heure du Diamant (Diamond Time)
The L’Heure du Diamant collection combines Chopard’s watchmaking know-how and its jewellery expertise. Surely, this must be the ultimate Valentine's Day gift; selecting from exquisite watches and dainty jewellery creations.
Haute Joaillerie watches, pendants, and earrings are entirely set with prong-set brilliant-cut diamonds. These classical, graceful creations in white or rose gold accentuate beautifully balanced and varied circular, oval, drop-like or elliptical shapes. Naturally, the Chopard signature heart symbol is appropriate to celebrate Valentine’s Day.....
FOR HIM
For Chopard’s 150th anniversary in 2010, the Manufacture launched a limited edition of the L.U.C 1937 model – a mechanical tribute to the company’s watchmaking heritage. The steel L.U.C 1937 Classic watch was named for the year when the founder's grandson Paul-André Chopard relocated to establish the brand in Geneva. Featuring a satin-finished silver-toned dial and a Manufacture movement (Calibre 01.01-L), it was a perfect illustration of Chopard’s watchmaking craftsmanship. When celebrating its 150th anniversary, the Manufacture paid tribute to this historical relocation by presenting the L.U.C 1937 Twist with its pure, understated lines.

Melvyn, thanks for a very tempting post! How is the men\'s 1937 for Valentine\'s Day different from the model in series production, the 168558-3001? As far as I can tell and going by the specs on Chopard\'s website, they are the same diameter, have the same movement, have almost exactly the same dial - the only differences I can discern are that the model you posted doesn\'t say \'automatic\' on the dial (hurray!) and is the tiniest bit thicker, although I can\'t figure out why. Esharp, The differences are subtle and probably not noticeable. Both reference numbers are still "in stock" in Chopard boutiques.
