FanFrancisco shares an exclusive look at Chopard's novelties, offering a detailed, hands-on perspective from a boutique visit. His report highlights the exquisite craftsmanship and innovative features of models like the L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer and the XPS Twist QF Fairmined, providing valuable insights for collectors worldwide. This article captures the excitement of experiencing new releases firsthand and the meticulous details that make these timepieces stand out.

The L.U.C 1860 reference is a notable offering within the L.U.C collection, distinguished by its focus on classical watchmaking principles and refined aesthetics. This particular model, introduced at Watches and Wonders 2023, represents a continuation of Chopard's commitment to high horology, emphasizing traditional craftsmanship and a discreet presentation. It is recognized for its balanced proportions and the integration of a finely finished movement, reflecting the brand's in-house manufacturing capabilities.
This reference features a case crafted from Lucent Steel, a proprietary alloy, measuring 36.5 mm in diameter. The watch is powered by the L.U.C 96.01-L automatic movement, which is visible through a sapphire crystal case back. This movement is equipped with a micro-rotor and offers a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. The dial is presented in a salmon color, complemented by a sapphire crystal on the front.
Appealing to collectors who value understated design and mechanical integrity, the L.U.C 1860 fits into the brand's lineup as a dress watch with significant horological merit. Its limited production and specific material choices contribute to its appeal among enthusiasts seeking a watch that combines traditional watchmaking with contemporary material science. The model is a testament to Chopard's ongoing development in its L.U.C range.
And the cherry on the top of the cake is this hunter case back. The best of two worlds (engraving and a secret view on the mouvement). Is it honey with bees engraved inside the hunter case back? My only βregretβ, at first sight, is that I would have preferred just a two hands timepiece without sub second dial and date to better enhance the engraving work made on the dial. And what about the XPS Twist QF Fairmined!!! Fantastic dial. One of the most mesmerising dial available today on the market i
Orange accent colors really work on that one. M4
Worldtimes in steel with either muted grey or orange accents are the biz! The chronometer with grey starburst dial is also very cool. Thanks for sharing what must have been a very enjoyable day. Best. G
Best regards Georges
Thanks for the terrific pics.
Stefan, Thanks for the virtual tour. Many of our readers do not have easy access to a Chopard Boutique and some are literally thousands of miles from one. I really like the L.U.C 1860 XPS as it is a new member of the original L.U.C 1860 family from 1996. The ladies are not forgotten either..... Regards, MTF
