Eklektik's recent encounter with the Breguet 3357 Tourbillon at Geneva Airport highlights the unique allure of luxury timepieces found in unexpected locales. His appreciation for the watch's delicate movement and comfortable 35mm case offers a compelling perspective for collectors considering this reference. This article delves into eklektik's initial impressions and subsequent thoughts on Breguet's offerings, providing valuable insights for both seasoned enthusiasts and new collectors.

I had the chance to fly through Geneva with a bit of spare time. Compares to many European airports, the offer from watch shops is something quite different! I stopped at Breguet and tried this one, what a stunning watch, the delicacy of the movement and it's execution is very impressive and its 35mm case is a pleasure to wear. I'll have to go again and try some more. Thanks to the nice staff boutique! Best, E.

About the Breguet Classique Power Reserve Ref. 3357

The Breguet Classique Power Reserve reference 3357 is a notable example of the brand's traditional watchmaking, featuring a power reserve indicator on the dial. This model is recognized for its classic design elements, including the fluted caseband and welded lugs, which are characteristic of Breguet's aesthetic. The layout prioritizes legibility while presenting the power reserve complication in a balanced manner, appealing to collectors who value functional complications within a traditional framework.

This reference is housed in an 18k yellow gold case measuring 36 mm in diameter, with some examples noted at 35mm. It is fitted with a sapphire crystal. The watch is powered by the automatic caliber 502.3, which provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The movement is visible through a sapphire case back, allowing appreciation of its finishing.

The 3357 appeals to collectors interested in Breguet's Classique line and its emphasis on horological tradition. The inclusion of a power reserve indicator adds a practical element to the watch without compromising its classical proportions. This reference represents a period when Breguet continued to produce watches with a strong connection to its historical design principles, offering a blend of technical refinement and understated presentation.

There is not much that exciting from JLC recently (since the True Second). Maybe a second-hand Reverso TT1931, but they are not easy to find and a bit pricey for what you get. With Breguet, I'd like to try Rose Gold for the first time (all my watches are steel for the moment). I have my eyes on two models which I would like to try eventually: 5207 or 5277, with a slight preference for the 5277. Let's see what the future brings The hunt is part of the fun! Best, E. I don't really see the point of knowing the power level of a watch that repowers itself when you wear it (and it will be repowered in few hours of wear). If you don't wear it, you don't need to know it has power or no power. For a manual watch, like my MUT, as I rewind it everyday, no issue. For a watch like my Reverso 8 Days, a power indicator is useful because after a few days you forget when exactly you winded it for the last time. Best, E.
