I wander lonely as a cloud.....
Guess whose hands are these? Hint: He lives in London or can you recognise the watch on his wrist?
The Gronefelds have figured out their family style and product cohesion.
The new half-bridge flying tourbillon in the Parallax model looks good even under a strong magnification.
Another source of parallax error is reduced by the minute markers inner bezel raised on "posts" that come up from the movement.this brings the markers nearer the hands.
The tourbillon /seconds indicator can be stopped by pressing a button. This stops the escapement the next time it reaches the zero mark.
If you activate the mechanism at 1 second mark, you have 59 seconds to adjust the time and never need to really stop the seconds indicator.
A side effect of this unusual "hack" mechanism is that the hour and minutes can be altered without disturbing the seconds precision. This is useful for changing time zones or daylight saving time.
Omega
OMEGA Sedna™ gold, an 18K rose gold alloy: gold, copper and palladium.
Which variant do you prefer?
Marcus Hanke chose blue with yellow hand and I chose black with red hand.
Ladies are not forgotten
Can you spot the reason for this being distinguishable as the Olympics Rio 2016 Omega watch?
We have had the Dark Side of the Moon Speedmaster from last year switched to general sales instead of boutique-only
NATO style straps are now available aftermarket from Omega. The webbing is quite smooth but could be made smoother! Maybe with Teflon contact pads where the watch back touches the strap. This may reduce the wear on the caseback....a criticism of NATO style straps is the wear and tear on watch cases.
Vintage style chronometers with manual winding movements.
Six versions of real fired enamel dials with manual winding movement.
Some have diamond markers but all are 88-piece editions.
The blue enamel dial is fetching.
Its been a long time since PuristS on Tour (PoT 2003) when we visited Glashuette Original Manufacture. We were the first group of enthusiasts at the then newly renovated Manufacture with "tourist" passages running through the production areas, without disturbing the workers too much.
