Barfly celebrates a significant milestone in her horological journey: the acquisition of her first Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 44mm. This post captures the profound joy and satisfaction of owning a highly coveted timepiece, reflecting on the extensive consideration that led to this choice and her immediate connection with the watch.

Dear Fellow Owners, Enthusiasts, and Collectors-

Today marks the beginning and the end of a long horological journey for me: the beginning of my Audemars ownership and the end of the long process of owning lesser time pieces that led me here. I have finally procured my very own 44 Royal Oak Offshore, and I am nothing short of jubilant! Itโ€™s exhilarating to be the proud owner of one of the best watches on the planet, in my humble opinion. And now this fantastic watch sits on my bedside table each night just waiting to venture out with me each day. I donโ€™t need to say anything to all of you about the quality, finish, beautiful balance on the wrist, history, or presence of this brand, but all of this and more led me here.

Itโ€™s with great honor that I get to write this post as an owner and join such a vibrant and energized community of fellow Audemars admirers. I could write pages on how many hours I have spent examining my new acquisition under the loupe to be astounded by the craftsmanship or how many Audemars were considered, tried on, debated, and agonized over prior to settling here. But somehow, I think that all of you already know.

All The Best,

A

It was the silver dial rubberclad. I was astounded by the craftsmanship - a true AP hallmark from its inception in 1875 to today. The feel on the wrist - powerful. There is no brand that does it better than AP. Welcome here, thanks for your photos, and please keep us posted on your ownership experience with the new 44mm! It looks spectacular on you.

You have a awesome piece, enjoy and wear in the best of health. Like MichaelC I also remember my first AP sliding onto my wrist. Eighteen years later I am still smiling. Best, JerryW

Barfly, Congratulations! The first cut is the deepest. I have a few Audemars Piguet watches but the gorgeous rose gold and black Royal Oak Offshore was missed out when first launched and now, I can't afford today's prices. You said, "I could write pages..." Please do! Oh...and welcome to our site. Regards, MTF P.S. What sort of cat is that?

Full throttle, congratulations Barfly! Suits you so well, too - cool looks, an unmistakable and gutsy statement for an elegant and modern lady with an affinity to heritage and craftsmanship: kudos! Here\'s the bad news: it might not be your last Royal Oak - once bitten... Your photos and comment literally scream character and pride of ownership - good on you, enjoy the ride! Semper Fidelis
