Earlier this week we got an incredible surprise from AP about the arrival of a special piece - the new 34mm Royal Oak Ceramic. Sadly this one is not for me but for my better half as an early 20th anniversary gift

It was a complete and utter shock that we received the call for this one - and sometimes wishes really come true! Many thanks to AP for making this happen.

Some initial thoughts - the finishing is just as superb as the perpetual (shown below). The dial is definitely much darker (more black than grey) but the rose gold indices and bezel screws really stand out. It's a real elegant, understated, but incredible piece that I think will get a ton of wear with my wife, and kudos to AP for really spending time to create excellent and exciting pieces for the better half

Now...can you imagine this in 39mm?? No seconds hand? White gold indices instead of rose gold? Mind completely blown!!!

Ha ha ha…boutique staff laughed when I put it on my wrist…

And then my wife said strongly - “that watch is too small for you…” and after they removed 4 links my dream was over…I can’t event put this over four fingers so all I can do is ask her to wear it more often Oh well, I get to live vicariously through my wife!!! Cheers Peter
