A: The clasp.  Nice idea of AP to try and update things here.  I know some find the single fold version uncomfortable but I wish that at least three things could have been achieved -
1) retention of the AP logo in the folding elements,
2) integration to retain thinness and low profile (compare the Bulgari solution)  - the overall height of this new arrangement is thicker (?) than the watch!
3) find some way to allow fine adjustment.

B: The bracelet.  Notably thicker and losing some of the sensuous silkiness of the original as a result.

C: Dial.  Small block dial is a nice return.  Lower logo location is a nice touch. But the hour markers give an unfortunate impression of thickness.  Reinforced by….

D:  Hands that mount too high off the dial.  This is disappointing aesthetic difference giving an unwatned  impression of thickness

E: Coordinated date wheel colour - hurrah

F: Case finishing revisions that are great to see and more of a return to the original concept that had got a bit lost on the way over the four decades probably a result of worn tooling (?) so the tapering facets now arrive pin sharp at their desinations.

It's a shame because a combination of aspects of these two variants and some tweaks to a couple of other areas such as
- movement upgrades with modern materials: e.g. antimagnetic hairspring, escapement efficiency....
- water resistance of 100m!
- and careful alignment of the watch head to bracelet (previously discussed and somewhat an oversight for the entire life of Jumbo where the watch sides are non-parallel but the bracelet sides are!)

could result in the best Jumbo ever made.

About the Audemars Piguet Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15202 YG Ref. 15202

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Jumbo" ref. 15202 is a significant reference within the Royal Oak collection, known for its close adherence to the original 1972 design. It maintains the distinctive slim profile and integrated bracelet that defined the initial Royal Oak, distinguishing it from other Royal Oak models that introduced different sizes or complications. This reference is particularly valued for its historical continuity and minimalist approach to the Royal Oak aesthetic.

This reference features a 39mm case, typically crafted from yellow gold, with a thickness of 8.1mm. It is fitted with a sapphire crystal and offers a water resistance of 50 meters. Powering the watch is the self-winding Caliber 2121, a movement known for its slimness and a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. The dial is presented in blue, complementing the yellow gold case and bracelet.

For collectors, the 15202 represents a direct link to the Royal Oak's origins, appealing to those who prioritize historical accuracy and understated design. Its production run from 2012 to 2019 makes it a sought-after reference among enthusiasts of the "Jumbo" lineage. The combination of its classic dimensions, integrated bracelet, and the Caliber 2121 solidifies its position as a key reference in the Audemars Piguet catalog.

...say better either from the predecessor 0944 - Agree with Tim there that a combo of old and new cud result in best Jumbo. A bout time it adds more value to it for the price it dictates but as long as customers continue to bid up the price AP has no incentive to offer an upgrade - just keep the supply tight instead. Sad but truth - this is APs 5711.
