MichaelC shares a compelling 'almost' acquisition story, detailing his near-purchase of a rare Audemars Piguet La Boutique Paris Royal Oak Chronograph. His experience highlights the often-fraught journey of acquiring highly sought-after vintage references and the critical importance of seller trust. This post serves as a valuable reminder that sometimes the best deals are the ones that don't happen, especially when instincts signal caution.

I can understand the attraction though. That is a very cool reference.
Mostly a very enjoyable passion, but we must always be careful.
Yes, I should have reached you for this search! Perhaps another titanium Royal Oak will come along...
One of the most beautifully finished ROC out there, just gorgeous BUT so fragile, the finishing, just one scratch anywhere and the watch is ruined, I wore it 5 or 6 times but then I gave up on it. I need a watch that is tough and can take can take a beating, same reason I sold my Ressence Type 3, too fragile, as special as it was. S
One of the Great References and was fantastic to own, highly recommended. S
Pity, it is so beautiful!
