Emmanuel, known as 'quattro' on WatchProSite, presents an invaluable deep dive into Audemars Piguet's rare 1940s Calendar Chronographs. His meticulous research unearths details on 11 of the 20 known Triple Calendar Moonphase Chronographs, offering collectors and enthusiasts an unprecedented look at these historically significant timepieces. This article serves as a testament to AP's horological artistry during a pivotal era.

The 20 Triple Calendar Moonphase Chronographs powered by 13VZAQ calibers produced by Audemars Piguet during the Second World War (from 1941 to 1943) are among the most interesting and beautiful timepieces I know.

I have been able to identify 11 of them: here's an organised and documented overview.

Thanks for reading.

Best, Emmanuel

On the two photos below, from Antiquorum in 2007 and Davide Parmegiani (@dax2499), the case is presented as - and definitely seems to be - full pink gold instead of steel & pink gold. Why? I don't know, but it's the same movement no. as above.

I put this on our Editors Pick assigned it as a Hot Topic status! What a great post!

My favourite is possibly this one: So many attractions: lugs, triple tone dial, arabic numerals, the long and slender needle hands... I am not into coloured gold but would proudly wear this if I have the privilege to own it. Thanks for the great effort, Emmanuel!

I can clearly see that I urgently need to revise my judgment on this point. These are absolutely superb.

So, I'm confused. 🫣 I must not be fully awake. That said, this four-subdial arrangement, which has always seemed a bit cluttered to me, proves to be very balanced here.

It is so well executed here indeed.
