worst come to worst...

... u can ask them to give it back to u the way it was, with water inside it, and that you never agreed to pay 400euro for such work. Sorry to hear your story, especially that if they charge you "jst" 400euro, it means that no big works has been done on it. For your info, i took my father's AP royal oak to a dealer in Monaco, to have it serviced ( oiled, joints, etc... ). They came back to me with a 3,000euro offer ( around 4,800 usd  at the time ). I couldn't believe my eyes, but they said, they must send it to geneva, and that the watched hasn't been checked for 5 years, blablabla...

When i went back to beirut, i took it to the guy that fixes all my watches. A nice guy, that has been fixing all kind of watches since 40 years, and that has been working on some of my high complicated watches. He took 75$ for it. The lowest he charges!! He said, it doesn't need anything, jst oiled it and changed the waterproof sealings. On top of it, he did a light polishing, and the watch was looking brand new again.

Its a shame how some AD's and brands like to milk you. I am sure that on the long run, they will loose. Nobody likes to be taken for a fool. There is a nich here for brands that take good care of their customers and are honest on what they charge them for after sale services.

Good luck in case, and don't bend, even if u must take back the watch like it is. for the principal.
