Since the 1920s, Italian race cars from Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lancia, Abarth and Ferrari were painted in rosso corsa ("racing red").
The orange-tinged red that you like may be that used by Ferrari for their F1 Grand Prix cars between 1996 - 2007 to compensate for colour balance on old television screens.
The original Rosso Corsa may appear dark brown on inferior television screens.
True Rosso Corsa returned to Italian race cars since the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix, coinciding with increasing HDTV ownership.
CHOPARD Mille Miglia 2015 Race Edition watch is nearer to traditional Rosso Corsa.
