Time travel: enjoying a blast from the past (ca. 2007+/-)

Anybody out there know when this variation turned up?

I enjoy this one because the dial is a bit less brazen than the black-and-white on the original yellow gold, while the case is quite a bit smaller than the current model (39mm vs. 43mm), with the date at 6:00, as opposed to 4:30.

The strap is my own doing - a bespoke suede alligator by ABP in Paris. The OEM band this watch came with was pretty beaten up by the time I purchased the LUC. (It was also vey thin and oddly proportioned, to accommodate Chopard's rather awkward deployant ...

Very good dial work from Chopard indeed. Just so proportionate and beautiful!

Size is just fine in my books. Anything beyond 40 would make it unreasonable to wear by a classic gentleman.... Regards

Interesting model

Here the regulator display is in much more in the current model. Yours is more playful, light where the current model is more serious and art deco like in design.

Agreed. Chopard's design work for the LUC range circa 2003-2008/9 hasn't necessarily aged well to many an eye,

but playful and inventive it most certainly was! For all that some would condemn this style as hopelessly dated, I do miss the daring that characterized many a Swiss brand's design vocabulary a decade or two back, in contrast to the cautious approach that...

It is far from dated. Quite a refreshing design.

Maybe its size will show that the watch is not from recent times but to me 39 mm is a superb size for the show on the dial.

Oh yes, I like everything about this watch..

particularly the movement - its a manual wind, a 8 days (minimum) power reserve and a beautiful Geneva Seal movement. Brilliant in all aspects.

You don't have an eight days watch, or do you?

Eight days or ten days would be also something I would love to own.

Aaah, of course! [nt]

I admire your "policy"

regarding date on a watch face. Maybe I too, should have a strict policy in my watch specifications. It certainly can save quite a bit on the watch budget )

He he he... ;) [nt]
