Marie Antoinette was told she could not have her cake and eat it....or am I mixing up the "No bread? Let them eat cake" metaphor?
In any case (sic), this offering of high class jewellery work on an interesting Imperiale case with an integrated manufacture movement surely covers all the tick (check for USA) boxes on a ladies' wishlist for haute horlogerie.
It is often quoted that ladies cannot cope with mechanical movements and the adjustment of time setting when the power runs down. That is why quartz movements are predominant in ladies' watches. I think that is rather a condescending generalisation. A customer (lady or otherwise) may choose a quartz movement but that is not necessarily because they cannot "cope with a mechanical movement".
This Chopard Imperiale Joaillerie Améthyste allows the hypothesis to be tested.
Can ladies cope with it?
I'm pretty attracted to it myself....
