SalonQP 2017: CHOPARD Behind the Wheel

Dear Chopard forumners,

Thanks to Gaelle Moatty and the Chopard GB Team.

I was looking forward to Chopard at SalonQP 2017 in London but they no longer have a exhibition stand.

Like many major brands, they have pulled out as exhibitors.

Three watch brands with German-speaking associations were still featured at the 'Behind the Wheel' exhibit: Chopard, Montblanc, and IWC.

This special exhibition explored the intrinsic relationship between the worlds of watchmaking and motoring.

Chopard sponsors motorsports like the Mille Miglia, Grand Prix Historique de Monaco, Moscow L.U.Chopard Classic Weekend Rally, Dubai Chopard Classic Rally and Haciendas Classic Chopard Rally.

Chopard even sponsored a team on the 2016 Peking - Paris Rallye.

Finally, here is the most desirable CHOPARD Mille Miglia Classic XL 90th Anniversary on display.

Inside is a high grade, modified (dateless), L.U.C manual-wind chronograph movement with Geneva Seal certification.

Chopard likens this to the racing practice of shoehorning a supercharged engine into a stock car body.

The movement first made an appearance in the L.U.C 1963 Chrono PuristS steel edition, as seen frequently on Mr Scheufele's wrist.
