Now I understand your question

tom_hanx,

The LUC 1.010 movement is designed to be more robust and with stronger torque than other LUC self-winding (automatic) movements.

I can only speculate at the moment why Chopard chose to make another automatic movement in the LUC range......

The other automatic movements are with small (micro) off-centre rotor, which is sufficient for simple and elegant watches.  The more complicated LUC watches use the manual wind 4 barrel (Quattro) base movements.  The Chrono One has an automatic central rotor chronograph movement but is rather specialised.....chronograph functions...and very hand-finished.

The Mille Miglia range of Chopard watches are more sporty and if they need to use in-house movement for that range of watches, they need a tough movement that can be modified to give GMT, power reserve, chronograph etc variants..

Being Chopard, they also need a well finished movement that can be industrialised.

Hence the LUC 1.010... the best of both worlds.

Need I say more?
