Chopard has been the historic partner and official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia classic car event since 1988.
Chopard celebrated it’s 30th year of partnership with the Mille Miglia this year. With 440 teams competing over a distance of one thousand miles on a historic route from Brescia to Rome and back via Tuscany, this year's race was held From 16th to 19th May.

Alfa Romeo first won the Mille Miglia in 1928 and 90 years later, Alfa Romeo finished 1-2-3 on the podium in 2018:
1) Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 GS Testa Fissa crewed by Tonconogy and Ruffini.
2) 6C 1500 Super Sport from 1928 with coachwork by Stabilimenti Farina driven by Moceri and Bonetti.
3) Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato driven by Vesco and Guerini.

Loyal to tradition that began 30 years ago in 1988, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Chopard co-president and a passionate driver, participated with his friend and racing legend Jacky Ickx.

Several friends of the Brand attended the race: Porsche driver Timo Bernhard partnered American actor Adrian Brody. Albert Carreras, son of the famous tenor José Carreras went to the starting line with his friend Jordi Pascual. In total, Chopard took five cars to the starting line.

This year, another generation of the Scheufele family featured at the legendary race -- Karl-Friedrich's daughter, Caroline-Marie, who has been working on reception at the trade shows for a few years now.

This year again, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele chose to honour Chopard’s partnership with Porsche Motorsport. The legendary driver and friend of Chopard, Jacky Ickx, drove with Karl Friedrich Scheufele the Porsche 550A Spyder RS, a loan from the Porsche Museum. The car specially created in 1956 and destined to make its mark on the history of motorsports. “Porsche car and especially the 550 Spyder RS is a very reliable car as well as very fun to drive. I really enjoy driving it ! Especially with my friend Jacky Ickx. We did our first Mille Miglia race together in 1989.”
