and for me, a greater contrast between the hands and the dial would have improved my ability (old eyes) to see the time in less than favorable light, such as a GTG of Purists.

Agreed that historical chronos are more desirable than gold ones.

JLC did the same thing with the Alarm movement for their manual winding Memo.
