As mentioned, for millions of people, the distance from boutiques can be thousands of miles.
For example, take the three Chopard boutiques in USA.
The distance between Costa Mesa, California and Miami is 2,700 miles.
The distance between Costa Mesa, California and New York City is 2,800 miles.
The distance between NYC and Miami is 1,300 miles.
Thus, about 300 million Americans who do not live in those three cities could be thousands of miles from a Chopard boutique.
Of course, there is some regular stock in retail shops rather than boutique specialties but Chopard does not have a vast network of retailers.
Multiply the problem across countries across the world and online shopping is the only solution for someone in Bora Bora or Kalamazoo.
By the way, I used to have a house near Kalamazoo so I know.

Not sure why people want to buy watch online
It is because if they go to boutique, they can enjoy the immediate service from the boutique and maybe some gifts as well. And if they go to AD, they can get some discount in price. Just curious
