So the base layer if the dial is in gold and what is the substance used for the white coating for the dial? I just took another close look at the dial and I must say, the guilloche work is very very good.

I think it is sprayed on. For L.U.C all pieces with Geneva Seal, the dial are gold material. They are made by Metalam. If you are keen to know a bit more about dial-making this may be something interesting to view : chopard.watchprosite.com Kong

Is the all white dial a special version or an older version? I have been shopping for a regulateur and have only seen the LUC's with black accents. Enjoy, Ginger
This is the older version I think.
The black accent ring on the dial is actually quite nice but perhaps adds to what some may view as an already rather busy dial. if you're looking for a regulateur, really put this as one to be considered. I looked around quite a while and I guess you know...

I have the PSM chinese Shimoda in Red Gold already on my desktop which is how I start my process for the next piece. Its a good way for me to see if I tire of it easily so it should be there for the next few months or so

I actually had the 30 piece LE in steel offered to me as well but I guess I took a stand to stick with some kind of precious metal awhile back. But yes, this little vixen is quite a piece which goes unconsidered in most cases.
