Thanks for the photo report.
I just noticed that each piece may be different depending on the eye and brush of the Master.
The colours of the flowers can be changed at will.
The Snake is an interesting Zodiac animal because It is considered both good and bad, lucky and unlucky, or a vision and a sight!
Still, the Master's work is praiseworthy and truly this is "handiwork".
The current Mrs MTF and I were into lacquer-work when we lived in Japan. We had objects decorated with different techniques: pens, boxes, tableware, etc. And now.....watches too.
Our favourite is this model in white gold: 'Ultimate Universe' also by the same Master and Chopard.
Unusually, there is no sprinkling of gold or silver powder. With this technique, only charcoal powder was used to build up the layers to show the Four Seasons and their Flora and Fauna (Insects).
The numerically gifted will notice there are actually 5 insects on the Chopard dial: the traditional Japanese 4 insects and the fifth one for Chopard.....the bee. Actually, in Japan, they call it a Japanese hornet.
Regards,
MTF
