Let's hit the road with the Cartier Roadster !

Mar 13, 2025,14:11 PM

I've never been very much into Cartier, nor into cars or automotive-inspired watches, but, for whatever reason, I find the design of the Roadster bold and somehow attractive.

Here's a mostly random overview.

Best to you all,
Emmanuel

Don't see many of these around and I did not realize there were so many versions.

Yes, I think they deserve more attention than they get.

Few designs are as original while remaining somehow classic at the same time. Best, Emmanuel

'Unexpected charm', very well said.

Few designs manage to be as original while remaining somehow classic at the same time. Best, Emmanuel

I also am not too knowledgeable on Cartier watches but I find the Arabic numeral Roadsters in your post quite sporty and appealing.

This is the first time I've noticed the "cyclops" lens over the date. I have never been bothered by a date magnification lens and find this version of the cyclops kind of cool. Thanks for sharing and expanding my watch knowledge. M4

This design combines something bold and sporty with some

more classic elements and I find it very well done. The cyclops is certainly a great feature here, reason why I like the 'S' model less personally. Cheers, Emmanuel

Thanks for sharing your photo!

Yes, quite unique design, both sporty and dressy in a very unique way. Best, Emmanuel

They don’t seem to get much love.

I find the non chronograph version to be very attractive and look great on the wrist, the pushers on the chronograph version seem to pronounced to my eyes. I really like the 1st one with the Tuxedo dial, I’d own that in. A minute.

Yes, Larry, the first one is very attractive!

The mix of sporty and dressy elements is quite unique. I think I would be personally quite happy with the regular yellow gold with Arabic numerals on a silver dial. Best, Emmanuel

A very beautiful timepiece!

The Roadster was one of the first luxury watches I fell in love with some decades ago (that and the Reverso)! The first iteration of the roman numerals dial was my favourite. Sadly never did own it.

Sad indeed.

But if you still care for it, it doesn’t seem that difficult nor expensive to find one. Best, Emmanuel
