Just because I try to have each one of my watches be unique in a way if possible. Currently I don't have any titanium watches. With that being said, the design of this watch, regardless of wg or ti, is pretty unique.

This or that - white gold or ADLC titanium
By: SJX : October 28th, 2012-20:02
I've been having discussion with a collector about the Santos Dumont in WG or ADLC titanium. He is torn on which to get. My own vote is for the WG, though I can see the attraction of the titanium. I prefer the WG because of the brighter colour, and the fa...

The White Gold does bring out the features of the movement and finishing better. S

One vote for the titanium

For me the looks and the feel of the titanium version are irresistible. My favorite from the FWM collection. But the readability of the white gold version, with it's blued hands is better. Still prefer the titanium version. GEO

A tough This or That

The WG if the watch is going to be used primarily as a dress or special occasion piece. The Ti if it is going to be worn more often and regularly -- I fear that the rather wide bezel in WG will scratch easily if worn less than very carefully. This is prob...

As much as I love Ti, for this watch I must say WG

I feel the ADLC give the Ti a darker tone which does seem a bit off for such movement. WG is a much better material for this watch. ... ... a non ADLC Ti might be perfect. JX can you do something about it ;) Regards Tyler
Had to be WG

Saw the WG in person.... Wow! Best wishes, KK
Then what, a rubber strap? :)

It's an elegant piece. And while the Ti looks good visually, I personally think the appropriate matching case would be in some precious metal.
Seen them both.

WG is beautiful but can only be worn for very formal occasion. Ti is more versatile aand will definately hv more wrist time. MY VOTE IS FOR THE Ti.
Based on the pictures, WG.

And what a pleasure it may be to own such a beautiful piece carrying the name of the great inventor. ;)
WG!

For something this classic, it has to be the white gold. DLC suits something "cooler", like say a Sarpaneva...
White gold definitely for me

I feel the watch looks crisper with the white gold. In person, the ADLC titanium isn't as good looking as what it looks like in pictures. And the WG version is much better in the flesh too. Cheers, Anthony
