I've been having discussion with a collector about the Santos Dumont in WG or ADLC titanium. He is torn on which to get. My own vote is for the WG, though I can see the attraction of the titanium. I prefer the WG because of the brighter colour, and the fact that it brings out the shape and finishing of the movement better.
What would you pick, irrespective of price?

The lighter the better! The WG if the watch is going to be used primarily as a dress or special occasion piece. The Ti if it is going to be worn more often and regularly -- I fear that the rather wide bezel in WG will scratch easily if worn less than very carefully. This is probably my favorite modern Cartier.
In the end, I think I would opt for the WG, as the ADLC may be a bit too trendy for such a fine non-sports watch as this, and I think this is a watch one would want to keep for a long, long time and survive fashion trends.

It's an elegant piece. And while the Ti looks good visually, I personally think the appropriate matching case would be in some precious metal.
I feel the watch looks crisper with the white gold. In person, the ADLC titanium isn't as good looking as what it looks like in pictures. And the WG version is much better in the flesh too.
