How do you wear your vintage Cartier knowing that it have no water resistancy at all?

Hi everyone! A big fan of Cartier Tank LC here. I was just researching on this model, and I notice Cartier only introduce water resistancy to Tank LC starting in 2008 model (Quartz model with 8 screws in the back). This includes most manual winding tank L...

I would wear it very carefully.

I pretty much don't get any of my watches wet, at least not intentionally. One of my watches is a Rolex Submariner and I don't even swim with it on. I know I can and water won't hurt it but I don't need to know the time when I am swimming. I have several ...

Thank you! Same here though, I would take off my Rolex every time I go for a dip for sure. And different event would probably need different watch. Not much of a difference with choosing your outfit. People won't go out with a linen shirt and a pair of fl...

I wear all my life watches with no, or hardly any, water resistancy

and I am used to that. I just take them off when working with my aquarium or when I go for a swim. It is a matter of getting used to it. Even my Apple Watch I take off when showering. GEO ...

I'm curious to know...

Do you double wrist with the apple watch? If so, is it in any way uncomfortable? I'm contemplating buying one, but only if I'm able to double wrist it

I do not double wrist

but I know from a guy who is doing that since years. But he is wearing the small model, so it is not dominant on the wrist.

Thank you for your response, Geo! I guess even though they are not water resistant, it doesn't mean that they won't last. Very cool tank asymmetrique, btw!

Thank you!

Yeah, I agree. I notice it's been years since I have my watches and worn them regularly in both dry and humid climate and they turn out pretty well. No water damage, and if anything, it only made it look interesting. One of my Santos even got rainbow pati...

I certainly don't ever submerge them. If one happened to get sprayed by the sink or something I'd just towel it off and forget about it. Definitely not something I'd worry about. Life is too short.

Yup agree. In the end these watches are meant to be worn. Anyway, do you happen to notice any spots on your vintage watches dial after it got sprayed by water? I heard if the guilloche dial will have spots if humidity gets in there due to dial material is...

No I never have ever noticed any deterioration on any watch except ....

a UN Marine Chronograph where the blued hand got a small brown spot on it. I'll get it changed when I get it serviced next time. I'm not one for "patina" on watches and would always sell or repair any noticeable "aging". Obviously not what most vintage gu...
