The Top 3 Bulgari Watches to Own

Over the past couple of years, Bulgari has made significant developments in the watches that they have released. Just a few years ago customers only had their signature lines to choose from – watches such as the iconic Bulgari Bulgari, their more sporty line of Diagonos and their signature square-cased watch, the Assioma. These were the best that Bulgari had to offer its male clients who were shopping for a new timepiece.

There was always an emphasis on history, tradition and confidence in the brand, as made evident by the widespread use of the company’s logo on not only their watches but all of their products. Bulgari’s abundant use of their logo on the cases of their watches is a signature stamp of their identity. It is familiar and reflects the strength of the brand but it also raises the question, “What else is there?”

Repetition of a logo isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In certain circles, in certain parts of the world, people live for logos. Being one dimensional however, can be and Bulgari was beginning to stick only to what they knew best with their male watches until just recently. It was a bold move to integrate new brands into their product line, to grow vertically and to make the leap towards becoming a true manufacture.

In just the past three years they’ve added a number of new choices to their men’s line of watches; not just the usual characters that we are used to seeing but truly exciting and impressive developments in mechanical watchmaking with well thought out designs. They’ve made it more difficult for those who are shopping for high complication, in house movements, fine finishing, or great design that’s sporty or classic. Bulgari has managed to cover it all.

So now with their diversification they have a lot more to offer the discerning watch collector and a broader base from which a fan can build a collection that is well rounded. Collecting can be a very personal thing that is unique to each individual. It can consist of just a few watches or amount to dozens of them. If you have the luxury of thinking about getting more than one watch then the next obvious question is, “What are the best Bulgari watches to own?”  

Personally I wouldn’t want to get more than three watches of a single brand and selecting my choices for the top three Bulgari watches I’ve taken into consideration a number of factors including style, practicality, design, balance and overall concept and aesthetic. The following are my top three selections.

Everyone needs an everyday watch and the Octo is an ideal choice. The thinner case makes it comfortable to wear while doing a wide range of activities and the simple dial and design makes the watch practical and versatile for any occasion and situation. It can easily be dressed up or down and can double as a more “formal” watch.

Bulgari Diagono X-Pro

The Diagono X-Pro is a sporty, technical looking watch that can be appreciated and admired for its unique construction and impressive engineering. The case’s one hundred plus separate components can be marveled at alone. That along with the sapphire dial that creates the illusion of depth as you read the time makes this one of the coolest sport watches to own.

Endurer Chronosprint

The Endurer Chronosprint is another sporty looking watch but one that has a little more versatility in terms of wearing in a business setting due to the simple dial. The shape of the case is truly original and carries the essence of Daniel Roth’s signature style, taken to a sporty, hi-tech level. Simply speaking, it was one of the most anticipated releases by Daniel Roth and now lives on under Bulgari’s “enduring” spirit.
