I bought the original Gefica a couple of years ago, at the time it really was a very unique watch and this whole bronze craze really wasn't there yet, it has a very strong personality and look. The finishing and quality was top notch.
I really liked it but over time what turned me off was that I could not wear it all the time as it didn't suit all situations or my attire, also my taste in watches changed where before I would like 44mm + big bulky watches that wouldn't fit under my shirt cuff and comes across as if you're compensating for other short comings south of the border to watches that were easy to wear, light and slim with dimensions of 38mm to 41mm.
Comfort over look. If its comfortable on your wrist and your work and personal life allows you to wear such a watch at all times then go for it.

PS: You can find Gerald Genta versions, just have to look in the right places

Since the pre Bulgari versions are hard to come by now, what does everyone think bout the Bulgari version with the black dial? Has anything been changed/modified/improved in terms of movement on this model since Bulgari took over? I couldnt find the msrp ...

HI Takashi san Still the Bvlgari version has the same movement and is with bronze case as well... Just as they suggested to you you need to look in the right place...

The Bulgari piece i was looking at had a very attractive price but too bad when i went and inquire the piece has been taken. I still love this series and model!

My pleasure...I think that the "new" Gefica has a more attractive look and we must not forget that the factory is still the same, same people, same level of quality etc etc...
A recent acquisition...
I had like it all this while...just never had the chance to own one until recently. And the passing of Genta makes me feel that I should own one of the watch that carry his name on the dial. Had alot of respect for him...think Royal Oak, Nautilus, Oversea...
