Just an hour ago I passed by a Bulgari shop largest HK and wandered in to ask them when they were expecting the new OF stainless steel - silver dial model. A simple question…you would have thought…
The saleswomen pulled out their phones and started conferring with each other.
Then they offered to show me a photo of the watch. (No need, I know what it looks like.)
Then they tried making small talk…”your office is nearby?” “did you know this is our largest boutique in the city?”
Then they offered me some details about the watch. (No need for this either!)
Then they offered to let me try on a similar model to see how it fits (I’ve already got it in titanium…).
Then they offered to take my details and add them to some mailing list. (Uhhh…)
Eventually - it took some time - they figured out that I really was just asking one simple question and told me that it’s likely not to make it to Hong Kong except as a special order. Which, to be honest, I find surprising.
Getting a simple piece of information was like trying to get a straight answer out of your average politician!
So…I’m not sure the boutiques are much help…
