Was the engraving done by the gunmaker himself? I'm curious as to how it was done in the past. From what I have been told, some modern high-end gunmakers outsource the engraving to specialists. - SJX

I sent a reply to you but it went into the unknown....anyway I think it is very hard to compare modern with vintage, as things have changed so much. Purdey and Holland & Holland always were and still are right up there....possibly the best, but are not so...
