I wouldn't expect terrible things just because it's a tourbillon. The only real problem is that you can't have it regulated outside of a full service.
I would consider working with a skilled, trustworthy independent watchmaker. I know two very good watchmakers in NYC, perhaps there is one in Vancouver for you.
