Classique 5907 vs 5920

Aug 13, 2011,18:51 PM

Hi all,

I thought I would solicit some opinions from you on the relative merits and design of the Breguet Classique 5907 vs the 5920.

Both are in the Classique range, both are 34mm or so in size, and both have small seconds at 6'oclock.

Only physical difference I can tell is that the 5907 has a display/squelette back.

The 5907 has a calibre 510, the 5920 the calibre 516.

Any thoughts on the differences/merits of the two Breguets here?

The primary difference.....

is that the 5907 has a manual winding movement while the 5920 is self-winding and also has the date display at 3 o'clock. Of the two I prefer the 5920, though I would prefer a larger watch like the 5177 with enamel dial. Hope this helps. Bill

both use the calibre fp11.50

the calibre 511 used in the newer(old model used 510-less jewelling) 5907 is the fp11.50 which is 11.5 lignes=25.6mm and re-engineered by breguet without the automatic winding and is fitted with the winding power reserve indicator fitted as the 'slip'type...

great response

and like you I wouldn't say no to a 5967 either. I love the dial and the size. Bill...
