Breguet 5947
I am considering a 5947. Does anyone have any experience with this model? Since it is an internet purchase I can not try it on. I suspect the movement requires a rather THICK watch case. I am curious how it wears.
Any other information would be much appreciated.
I think this is very interesting watch. Does it contain the same base movement as the Patek 5004?
I was comparing the Breguet 535N (was 533N but they changed the number when they moved the third button to the crown from the 10 o'clock position) to the Patek CHR 27-70Q (5004 movement). The Patek has the "octopus" sitting on top of the 27-70 movement. It seems to be a module placed on top of the second hand wheel to allow for the split-second function.
The Breguet movement has a second column wheel at the nine o-clock position of the movement. There is no "octopus". It seems to be based on the 533.2 movement (essentially the Lemania 2310 and the same as the Patek 27-70).
Is the octopus essentially a column wheel or is it considered a higher level of complication or a lower level of complication?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.
Mike S.
