The silver dial is a winner. The mismatched subdials and the flat dull dial make the black one come in second for me. I think the silver dial and hands go very well with the breguet gold.
Full agreement. This silver version has both a sense of refinement and excitement at the same time.
The movement decoration is an unfortunate detail, but I don't think it would stop me if I were in the market for this watch. Th black dial leaves me quite uninterested. Thanks, Emmanuel for adding these photos!
I like the details you pointed out.
Breguet’s releases last year reinvigorated my interest in this lovely brand, particularly the past catalogues.
Not for me - I definitely prefer the black version. By far!
However, this is only based on pictures, I did not see it myself in real. It is clear, with a case in gold, it must be a dress watch, black or silver. A tool watch is never gold! So I accept, that it looks like that, although having the spirit of the tool...

Also, it's not the tachymeter scale that you were referring to, but the outer seconds scale. The tachymeter scale is further out and doesn't line up with the subseconds.

On pictures a lot of the elements you me toon seem appealing but finally I would need to check it out on the wrist. It does attempt to take the line upmarket and I am not sure this is what Breguet needs 🤷🏻♂️

Sadly for me the Type XX is the first steel automatic version. Gold tool watches are a big no-no for me, and as a purposeful instrument the “big eye”, is a must…

It makes total sense. At least, this silver dial variant is clearly a dress watch even if it’s called Type XX. In this respect I find it more coherent than the black dial version, which should be a true tool watch, but isn’t one. Best, Emmanuel

It's a dressier version, which leaves aside the idea of the true tool/pilot watch.

The big plate hiding the movement is such a let down

Of course they are absolutely fantastic watches, and time will prove their value, but because the two recent Only Watch piece unique Breguet produced are so close to the ideal, until they make something similar available to a wider market at lot of the mo...

I think that my interest in this piece might come from the fact that I’m more attracted to dress pieces than to pilots watches. That said the Breguet from last year which really sang to me was the Souscription. I hope Breguet will end up releasing the Typ...
