Breguet

Problems with Breguet a type XXI

i purchased Type XXI in 2011. After wearing it off and on for Appx one year I noticed that it would completely stop working. I would rewind and it would work for about 24 hours then stop again. I also found that sometimes the second hand would continue to work but the hour and minutes hand would stop. I sent it back to the store that I bought it from and they supposedly sent it to Breguet. I was told by my original salesperson that Breguet could find nothing wrong with the watch but they cleaned it and sent it back. I started wearing it again and the same symptoms recurred. I foolishly stopped wearing it out of frustration over buying an expensive watch and then the watch not working correctly. I finally decided to call the store back  after 14 months and was told that unfortunately the warranty on the watch and it's "repair" had now expired. They also told me that I would have to pay for the repair....if it could be repaired. The Salesperson alluded to the fact that the "engine" in the watch may be bad and would always exhibit these symptoms after the repair. They did I offer to trade with me but of course gave me a ridiculous trade in price of $4500....when they have a used one of their site advertised for $9500.

I am asking for advice in what to do next. Should I send the watch back to the store and risk paying a lot of money in repair costs...get it back and have the same problems recur?
I have several Rolex, Omega and Universal Geneve automatic watches that have never had any problems...some of them are thirty years old. I thought by "stepping up" to a Breguet that I would have the same or better quality.....boy have I been surprised. Needless to say this is my first and last Breguet. It is sad to pay so much for a watch and then have it not work.....
   Any advice will be appreciated.....
