This Blancpain is so versatile and legible that one could wear it...

Anywhere... Anytime...

In the boardroom..

With jacket off, in the privacy of one's office

Welcoming VIPs in style

Having high tea with royalties

Meeting celebrities

Shooting a rifle..

Teaching a thing or two about Judo

In casual jacket.. ready for some gardening?

Relaxing by the waterfront, dressed down in a Polo-T

Fishing trip, anybody?

Now putting politics aside, this is, in any WIS' objective sense, a very fine example of a one-high-end-watch-for-everything, which most probably only someone who has worn it for a period of time could really appreciate. Besides the versatility and extreme legibility, I find that it has a really comfortable fit, well-balanced esthetics, hand finished movement, haute horlogerie prestige, and is relatively affordable(if you can still find one considering the rarity).

Finally, with good eyesight inversely proportional with age, the grande date is really a big welcome for me indeed!

Agreed. A nice, versatile watch.

Not sure why BP removed it from the catalogue (didn\'t they?). Guess it wasn\'t very popular.

Thanks for the info.

Hopefully BP brings back a similar line of watches at around the 40 mm size.

Not just this particular model..

In fact, the entire Leman line has been discontinued (from AD's mouth and physical BP catalogue), although the BP official website still lists them.

Rumours that the Leman line is discontinued...

... exist since a couple of years, actually since Blancpain introduced the l'Evolution line. But since that one has been no real success, some existing Leman references are still alive ;-) I agree, Blancpain should invest a bit into this excellent blend o...

Where are his other fine watches?

This one looks like one of his favorites.

His current favourite I believe, is an FP Journe Chronometre Bleu..

Sincerely and Respectfully Joseph

I love the picture with the De Caprio a lot. I am almost guessing what Putin is saying to him:

It is water resistant to 100m, but is it polonium resistant as well?

He's back to wearing his favorite watch after a recent love affair with the FP Journe Chronometre Bleu... I guess for a daily wearer, he just couldn't do without the Grande Date... LOL ...
