Blancpain

The beauty of the simplicity...

The Tourbillon Villeret is maybe one of my fav Blancpain. I must confess that many times, I don't like the holes in the dials but here, thanks to its simplicity, the opaline dial is a perfect place for the Tourbillon.

The case diameter is quite small (37,5mm) if we follow the current standards but we all know that an elegant watch has to be harmonious. And here, everything is balanced. And thanks to its thin bezel, the Tourbillon Villeret looks a bit larger than it is.

The power reserve indicator makes a nice contrast with the Tourbillon. The finishings of each part are flawless, especially the hands...

The revolution of the Tourbillon brings a welcome animation on the dial and very quickly, our eyes are hypnotized by this merry-go-round. The simplicity of the dial is a wonderful scene for the Tourbillon.

The caliber is the BP25 , an exclusive caliber from Frédéric Piguet. Thin (4,85mm for an automatic caliber with Tourbillon is a good result), with a large power reserve (8 days) and with a quite limited number of components (238), its features give the proof of a well-thought conception. You will notice that its decoration is nice and subtle... to keep the spirit of the dial.

Thanks to its size, its balanced dial, it's a real pleasure to wear the Tourbillon  Villeret. It's a very comfortable watch... we almost forget it when we have it on the wrist... except when we read the time and stare the Tourbillon !

I have to tell you that I found some watches from the Villeret collection quite boring. Maybe too simple, too neat. But I really love this one. The revolution of the Tourbillon brings animation on the quiet dial and at the end, it's this contrast which makes the watch so attractive.
