Blancpain

Hello everybody ! A customer o' mine has proposed me this watch in exchange.... i did a research on the net to try to understand its genuinity and i found this link : montresdeplongee.free.fr m and as you can see this watch is the same one of the first up...  

Sorry i'm not sure if the caliber is 2066 or 2063 but it's one of those 2 !

Yesterday night i did a long long search and finally i found the right model !! Here it is (pictures taken from "The History of Fifty Fathoms by Jeffrey S. Kingston" ( i can send you by mail the PDF file because i don't think is possible post it here isn'...  

i not passing any judgment as i have zero expertise in this kind of arcana, but it does seem that the second hand on the model you're considering differs slightly from the second hand on the exemplar you found. whether that's significant or not, i don't k... 

There are 1 certain thing : the charging crown has been replaced .. for what concern the second hand it could be but consider that this watch is 35/40 years old !

In the end I went to BlancPain Official Assistance ! The watch is "Absolutely Genuine" but the hands and the bracelet and the Chargement Crown have been Replaced !! (after nearly 40 years too good it is they told me) So I don't "pass" , I take it !! ;-) I...

Hausmann Rome ! official Rolex and Blancpain (and many other brands) dealer ! Very curious isn't it ?!

so you should ask these guys - why do all these military MW watches have perfect cases ? - why do they all have perfect dials, hands and bezels ? - why do all the dials, hands and bezels have the same patina ? - why has the "Blancpain..." engraving been a... 

dear "amanico" the doctor is the "ONLY ONE" in this post who 's had the courage and probably "the technical knowledge" (unlike you , for example) to answer with FACTS !!! And not with a : I would pass , me too, raise , re raise , all inn !!) So i respect ... 

You wrote that you have the proof that the watch, at the exception of some details, is all correct, as stated by your Roman Dealer, who is a great dealr in modern watches, by the way, and then, you you prefer to send the watch back to the person who offer... 

I wrote to ask an ADVICE as many people ask me advices on regard Rolex watches ! I dont ask if they are customers or sellers is irrilevant !! Some people share their knowledge and other people doesn't !! There's 1 only certain thing: I did not learn ANYTH... 

The only persons who can certify the authenticity of an old FF is Blancpain in Switzerland > www.blancpain.com (customer service) Hausmann Roma is only an official retailer who should direct the client to Blancpain Switzerland in such a case.

Which is the most impoprtant, isn't it? Best, nicolas
