NWA . . . First foray into preowned territory - Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1

The past couple of weeks have been crazy. A well known Boston area non-authorized dealer contacted me indicting they had received an unworn Fifty Fathom 70th Anniversary Act 1. The owner never even opened the box, it was still sealed:

I was excited but also apprehensive. I had never acquired a preowned piece. After Henrik’s post:

I immediately contact the NYC Boutique. Since it was still under embargo, I had to haggle with them to take a deposit. Unfortunately, they had to refund my deposit since it was exclusively online. I was at a client project in Kansas City at that time. Although I was ready to go, it was quite difficult to get through and by the time I did, they were sold out. Needless to say, I was forking pissed!😑

Granted, Blancpain eventually released a new standard FF in a titanium iteration. Unfortunately, I’m just not a fan of that look, which IMHO looks like plastic:

I contact this non-AD to discuss acquiring this piece. Unfortunately with my heavy travel schedule, I would need a couple of weeks. They graciously reserved it for me. Then, I contact the NYC Boutique stating I would visit them last weekend to pick up a tropic strap. However, they are currently closed while transitioning to East 57th Street:

I contact the Las Vegas boutique. They will be closed starting tomorrow since their lease it up for renewal. Fortunately, they had one and a stainless steel buckle:

Yesterday, after I landed from Lincoln, NE, I headed over to complete the deal:

With this tropical strap, the NATO strap will be placed in the box never to be seen again!

Quite pleased to finally have a FF in my collection:

I’ve tried the 45mm iteration multiple times trying to convince myself that it wasn’t too big: Thanks, Larry! HAGWE!πŸ₯‚ ...

Looks great on you and I’m super happy everything lined up this time around! Enjoy it immensely, Alex

That would be very dangerous for my bank account, my friend!πŸ˜†

Thankful just to finally have a FF in the collection. Are you still considering the possibility of acquiring the titanium iteration?
