Can't wait...

... to see what Blancpain presents in Basel.

On the speculation they would show a new generation of the Fifty Fathoms, I reckon that it might be too early to discontinue the 6 year old line up, the previous Trilogy series ran for about 10 years... And clearly, the current model is by far the most successful watch Blancpain has ever had in their portfolio!

I would immediately sign in for a 60th Anniversary limited edition, and as they introduced the spectacular sapphire bezel with the 50th Anniversary edition, there might be a hint on the successor line up in a limited version this time as well, maybe it is the size ;-) 42mm would do the trick...

As I type this, I get even more unpatient to see what they have for us this year, I may need to take some tranquilizers to help me out smile

Pre-Basel ...

During a quick lunch in the sun, I looked at my watch and started to think about the Fifty Fathoms . The original Fifty Fathoms was already introduced in 1953 . The Fifty Fathoms 50s Anniversary was introduced in 2003 . Of course it looked much better on ...

I don't see Blancpain missing this opportunity to release something...

Which, I hope, will be exciting! Let's wait and see... Best, Nicolas

Am hoping that it will be something along the lines of the 50th anniversary. One can always dream. Thanks for the reminder!

Great post and photos

I have been pestering the nearest Blancpain boutique for months about a 60th anniversary FF, so hopefully I am 'on the list' for one! This is going to be an exciting Baselworld, I think : )

Flip-frenzy

 By: Psmith : April 23rd, 2013-22:38
Plan A involved a complex series of flips to get into a TTAL, but then I decided to put the brakes on and wait for the (expected) 60th Anniv. model. If the model does not appear, then either the TTAL or a new blue dial/brushed case re-enters the equation!...

Great Plan :-) [nt]

Great write up, Oliver! I have always admired the shots of your FF, one I would love to own, if it weren´t for my smallish wrist. If only they made a smaller one... Could that be in store for the 60th anniversary? If not, I will still give this one anothe...

Hi Alex ...

I am not sure if your wrist is smaller than mine :-) Thanks, for your kind words! Oliver
