And here the conversation could rapidly become boring. I for one am devoted to the pursuit of accuracy in a mechanical watch, sustained over time and human operating conditions.
So how much accuracy in a wristwatch do we actually want and need? That's a tired old subject - much like myself at this point in life. The easy answer is "as much as possible".
My latest acquisition is a GS Spring Drive (the Snowflake) which never ceases to delight and amaze me. OK, it gained a second in three weeks but is easy enough to reset if it continues upwards along this non-spiraling path
However a watch that gives me incomparably more satisfaction, in the long run, is a lowbeat KV Vingt-8 which will vary a few seconds in rate over the day but can be corrected by position overnight - same as with many other watches.
But I would never-say-never want to give up the Spring Drive. As for this Citizen, in its future shape and form, I would be most interested in who would buy it and for what - surely not just for its purported accuracy - to find out how well it actually performs! So I would have to buy one just for that, but can't hang around year after year if only to check the seconds.
End of conversation.
Best regards from a Very Old Amerix!
