PRESENTATION REPORT Canoo
Mar 11, 2021,14:09 PM
Canoo is a new company making a new electric truck. Can you think how many there are trying to get into that space? Workhorse, Rivian, Hummer (coming back), CyberTruck. etc. etc.
It's run by a guy named Tony Aquila. While I have not met him, I can tell you that he once worked for Mitchell International (where I was for 18 years) then when squeezed out, started a venture called Solera, and they bought all these automotive information companies in the space of about 5 years (company names in Bold were my clients or their partners):
ABZ, APU, Actual Systems, Acquire Insurance, Audatex, Autodata, AUTOonline, AudaExplore, CarWeb, CAP, Colimbra, DST, Digidentity, Enservio, Explore Data, Hollander, HPI, iATN, IBS Systems, Identifix, Informex, Inpart, License Monitor, LYNX Services, Market Scan, sachcontrol, and Sidexa.
Business being the way it is, he was then eased out and ended up at Canoo.
Tony's a heavy thinker and doer, and says they spent more time designing this truck's utility than other companies spend on the entire vehicle. Note front storage and work table on the front of the truck. With electric outlets!
Cab is roomy. They used digital control on the steering so there is no column to cramp your legs or hinder your climbing in.
Dash is flat for storage, eating your lunch, etc. etc.
No panel in your face.
Stout roof rack.
Side panels slide out for step, or drawers for storage.
Battery underneath is designed for upgrading or individual cell replacement.
A little bit of the VW Bus flavor from the side.
Checking out the roof rack.
The bed is 6 feet long but extendable to 8 feet! Open twin gate and slide out panel from underneath the floor and viola"
Like an old VW, sides fold down for easy access but also form shelves; more electrical outlets in the rear.

Check it out!
A-pillars are transparent for visibility!
This thing is kick-ass-cool
Truck lovers-- What do YOU think?
