Hmmmm
Not so sure. Based on what pedigree? At least McLaren's road cars can be loosely associated with their ongoing F1 activities. Not sure what a Chinetti brand car would be or would do. McLaren have battled and managed to get established based on significant (eye watering) and ongoing investment. Ascari is another example at the opposite end of the spectrum, with the odd but successful (?) resort business model And they finished up buying in the powertrain as Zwartster could not face the bill we showed him to do an engine worth a damn from scratch AND that's without having to provide a modern 2015 telematics/chassis/body controller and achieve ISOWhatever sign off and look at the 'challenges' faced by McLaren with a practically bottomless pit of money to address that; (saved by have a letter from Ron apologising about how disappointed a customer you must be.... and Sheriff's scalp.)
AND It depends on whether anybody who took up the gauntlet actually wanted to really make the car. Over the years I've seen plenty of occasions where the business model is to sponge VC or other funds in on a dream (revive and obtain rights to old brand > involve some old family member to achieve 'blessing' status and goodwill > do a bit of moody concept modelling > build a mockup whatever to keep the dream going > run a race team for a bit to enhance DNA > but god forbid have to ACTUALLY make it....) In the meantime live the dream driving around in your company Porsche going to meetings with investors/race events and eat cake and quaff Miillot.
It's been a while

when it comes to some recent projects we've seen over the years and yield to your extensive knowledge of the automotive world where people have wasted valuable resources and in the end it is nothing but a pipe dream. It reminds me of the story of the OSCA...
